Chip's Auto Repair

Chip's Auto Repair

These are the guys who spent the last 6 months refurb'ing my Scout... John on the left and Chip on the right.

Chip Healey has been repairing vehicles in this area for over 15 years and has established a personal base of over 500 loyal customers - myself now included! They put a lot of sweat and heart into this project and I cannot thank them enough. During the many months of working with these men, it became very evident to me that they genuinely love what they do for a living and it is sincerely not just a job to them. Their work speaks for itself.

And this is not there first Scout either. They have a lot of experience doing build up and refurb on Scouts!

Chip's Auto Repair is located at:
2016 Keller Springs Road
Building 1, Suite 100
Carrollton, Texas
(located behind the CVS Pharmacy)
Phone 214-676-7802
Just ask for Chip Healey!

New cover

I just received my new vehicle cover from Covercraft and I am happy to report that the fit is great and I am very pleased with the overall quality and workmanship. Covercraft was a pleasure to work with. They have a simple but detailed form covering every vehicle dimension which is rquired to get the fit right, and it's downloadeable from the internet. They did happen to already have all the stock Scout dimensions on file for my vehicle although the cover they made for me did require some customization since my Scout has very large oversized bumpers front and back. But it was evidently no problem at all for the Covercraft folks. They knocked it right out and I received my cover in about a week or so after I placed the order. They even had a special running for this popluar durable fabric which made the deal all that much sweeter. I got a great quality cover at a great price and it was easy!

Trailer pics

This is the trailer I haul my Scout with. I just added the storage box up front to hold tie down straps, chains, etc. I already had the box and attaching it was a simple enough task. The only extra work I had to do was move the swing down trailer jack forward to clear room on the tongue for it. I also recently had Chip add brakes to the trailer so it's much safer to tow the Scout now.

New gas cap

The gas cap that came with my Scout was pretty battered up and didn't seal all that well any longer so I ordered a new one from scoutparts.com . Now it's looking good as new and I have good tight seal again.
