In a bit of luck, Chip found a factory original crate engine. Sitting in it's preservative grease for the last 30 years, it was basically complete and ready to pretty much drop in. Although admitedly a bit underpowered, the engine nonetheless is an exact replacement for the 196cc 4 cyclider that the factory had originally installed, so we nostalgically sort of just went with it. One benefit that I will get from the 4 cylinder is fuel efficiency; probably 15 mpg versus 10 mpg with an 8 cylinder. This is of course precisely why International brought back the 4 cylinder after retiring it.
